We are David and Danny Scheinmann. We co-direct together as The Scheinmann brothers combining our respective visual, performance and narrative skills to tell stories from the heart, as equally funny as they are moving.
David started out as a commercial photographer, moving onto directing ads and music videos and currently exhibits with galleries.
Danny began as an actor and storyteller, developing into a best selling author.
We have collaborated on several screenplays, three feature-films and a short.

Working as a directing partnership we understand and believe in the collaborative creative process.
From the outset of any feature film project, we both play an active role in script development: As a best-selling author and story-teller, Danny brings an experienced hand to strong plot and character development. David draws on his script-writing experiences to help sculpt the narrative with pacing and imagery.
On set, David directs all the visual and technical elements of the film: camera, lighting, set design, etc…
Danny, also an actor, rehearses and directs the actors.
On a typical time-pressured shoot day Danny blocks and rehearses the actors. Simultaneously, David directs the set to deliver the shot list. This leads to greater efficiency to deliver the schedule, and allows each of us more time to focus on our respective areas than a sole director would have.
This unusual arrangement only works because we share the same narrative values and vision.
our work
Together David and Danny worked on feature The West Wittering Affair, an award-winning credit card movie made for £3,500. The story was written by Danny and his partner Sarah Sutcliffe, who also acted in it, and was directed by David. The film was largely improvised. Winner of Audience Award at Santa Barbara Film Festival, Cowboy Award for Best Foreign Film at Jacksons Hole FF, Best Ensemble Cast at Cinequest FF, Official Selection Seattle FF.
David directed and co-wrote feature Believe starring Brian Cox as Sir Matt Busby, about the legendary manager coaching a kids’ team. Danny coached the kids, all of whom were non-actors. Winner of Golden Eye Best Children’s Film at Zurich FF.
David and Danny co-directed the short film The Divorce, written by Danny, which won the Pears film script award and was selected for numerous film festivals.
David and Danny co-directed feature After Louise, starring Greg Wise. Unfortunately this film was never released due to a legal dispute between the producers.
Danny has written and co-directed several award-winning short films in the sphere of health, including for the World Health Org, which used spoken-word verse and live music. These have revolutionised the way organisations communicate about illness and health. Life Growing Up, about children with HIV, was a winner at Global Health Film Festival
